In 1949, Albert BERGERE, founder of the independent brand, started producing champagnes coming from the family estate under the name A.BERGERE. André, the youngest of 3 children, went on with the family business in 1986 with the help of his wife Brigitte MARTIN. Today the vineyard BERGERE is mainly situated in the area of Fèrebrianges, Etoges and Congy. As for the Cuvée Grand Cru, only the grapes of Avize (100 % Grand Cru) are used. Grapes coming from renowned villages and prestigious Champagne terroirs complete the supplies. The House BERGERE has its own 40 ha which are mostly planted with Chardonnay (50 %), Pinot noir and Meunier occupy 30% and 20% of the remaining surface respectively.
The Champagnes A.BERGERE are mainly composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The House is more specialized in the Chardonnay champagnes and has today 4 different Blanc de Blancs. The wines have aged at least 3 year on lees, for non vintage, and 5 years for vintage Cuvées. Everyone can enjoy our champagnes during an aperitif or with a meal, depending of a type of the Cuvée: non vintage Brut, Prestige or Vintage.
